There are some that up until now still do not know the difference between affiliate marketing and referral marketing. While both has some common grounds of similarity, fact is that they are different.
What is Affilate Marketing?
In affiliate marketing, the advocate does not know their referred customer personally, and the primary reason for doing so is to get paid or compensated for their recommendation.Essentially it is more due to the financial motivation of it. For example, if you are a blogger who wants to maintain a good reputation, you generally would only recommend products or services that you feel is really worthwhile and not solely for the financial compensation involved.
What Is Referral Marketing?
In referral marketing, the advocate recommedns brand directly to poeple they know, such as friends, colleagues, and even family members. The advocate recommends brand, service or product based on their strong opinion and perhaps experience about “something”.
